My name is Alex G. I’ve been interested in electronic music since I was quite young, like 8 or 9 or something, but the thing that really made what I am today was to discover the Basic Channel records in early 2007.
Those incredible records then led me to the awesome-beyond-reason Chain Reaction catalogue, then I pretty much discovered the rest of the dub techno scene and … there I am !
When I listened to records from the DeepChord label (especially DC11 which is still to this day one of my all time favorite records) was when I first realised I wanted to do this kind of music, although I never came quite as “close to the deep” as their immense records are, so I just do what I can.
I am kind of a vinyl addict, I buy a lot of stuff and like to own those big pieces of plastic. Of course mp3 is convenient and the best new way to distribute music and be heard by people all over the world, but I feel no media will never quite match the appeal vinyl has on me.
