alias: Norman Alexander
The person behind recently founded “nachtigallberlin“ is Norman Alexander – a berlin based producer and occasional dj for an internet radio station.
Norman started producing music around the age of 18. he got strongly influenced by the chicago rooted deephouse sound and later on also discovered detroit techno which fascinated him because of its raw, real and very intense character. people like kerri chandler, blaze and theo parrish were playing an important role in his musical development and still have a big impact on his work as a producer.
in 2007 Norman got his first release on soulstar record’s “deephouse 4th chapter“, later on found his personal project deepcitygroovez.com which is about spreading the vibe of urban underground music to the world.
untill the beginning of 2008 he had never been in touch with the netlabel scene but when he discovered “no-response“ got totally thrilled by the dubtechno sound of modul and neurotron presented there. so he stepped deeper into the world of netaudio and started to feel that this would fundamentally change his musical life as to producing, playing, celebrating electronic music.
soon he decided to find another project to work on this facet music called “nachtigallberlin“ in reference to his hometown berlin which he regards as an ideal spot for this free minded music culture. an online spot for nachtigallberlin is to be set up in the near future.
